This is an advanced 9-week asynchronous distance learning course designed for professionals working in the wine industry and for advanced enthusiasts.

Delivered in English via the WSET Online Classroom platform, this official digital course, administered by the WSET headquarters, offers total schedule flexibility, free from set timings. You can participate at your convenience, interacting with fellow students from around the world as well as a Certified Educator assigned by the WSET headquarters. Please note that the exam is to be completed in person at our school in London in the UK (not online).

Course Duration: 90 hours over 9 weeks, with a recommended minimum study time of 10 hours per week to successfully complete the course. The course is delivered asynchronously (i.e. no fixed timings), allowing you to complete the modules at your own pace within the 9-week study period. You are welcome to work ahead and complete all modules in advance. After the course concludes, you will continue to have access to the course content for one year. However, access to the discussion forum will no longer be available.

Course Materials: Study pack (dispatched to you once your booking is confirmed) + online study materials (weekly tasks, group tasting area, multiple choice feedback tests and videos). To ensure adequate time for pre-study, we highly recommend registering early.

Wine Samples: You have the choice to add the optional tasting kit, which includes 64 sample-sized wines (20ml each), for an additional cost of 299.99 GBP. The Level 3 Award in Wines is a highly advanced course, and is designed to build on an existing level of knowledge equivalent to the Level 2 Award in Wines. For this reason, this course is open to students who either hold the "WSET Level 2 Award in Wines" or the "WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits" qualification.

If you haven't passed either of these, but have obtained the relevant knowledge and experience, please take our Direct Entry Test if you'd like to be admittedly directly.

There will be an exam of 2 parts after the course. In order to pass the exam, you should be prepared to dedicate a minimum of 90 hours to study time. You'll be provided with a study pack (a textbook + a workbook) once you sign up for the course. Please make sure that you read the textbook thoroughly prior to commencing the course.

Theory Exam: a 2-hour closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions and 4 questions requiring short written answers;

Tasting Exam: a blind tasting of two wines in 30 minutes

Exam Date: Flexible. Book your 1-on-1 exam by email when you're ready. Your exam must be taken in person at one of our venues in London within 1 year, on a mutually agreeable date after the scheduled course end date. The exam will take place under strict exam conditions. Please contact us at least 3 weeks in advance to make arrangements.
The course fee covers FREE shipping of your study pack to a UK address. For those residing outside the UK, an additional overseas postage fee (£30) will be applied to this order.

From 1 August 2025 onwards, successful candidates will receive a Digital Certificate and eBadge. Please make sure you provide your personal email address, not a school or work email, in case circumstances change in the future.
