Important Update: Digital Certificates Now Available
WSET has introduced Digital Certificates for Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications. For more details and FAQs, please read our blog post.
Accessing Your WSET Digital Certificate
To access your WSET Digital Certificate, you must use the same email address that you plan to use when registering for your online exam on this page. We strongly recommend providing a personal email address instead of a school or work email, so you can maintain access even if your circumstances change.
Who Is This Information For?
If any of the following apply to you:
- You failed your WSET Level 1 or Level 2 exam in Wines/Sake/Spirits; or
- You were unable to attend your initial exam due to unforeseen circumstances; or
- You have studied with another provider and wish to take the exam with us as a Transfer Student;
Then, you are eligible to sit or resit the exam online from home via Remote Invigilation — regardless of which school you attended or where you are geographically located.
About Online Exams
Students now have the option to take their WSET Level 1 or 2 in Wines/Sake/Spirits exam online from home via Remote Invigilation.
⚠️ Online exams are not currently available for Level 3 qualifications.
For online exams taking place from 1 January until 31 July 2025 inclusive, the exam fees are:
Level 1: 85 GBP
Level 2: 110 GBP
What Is Remote Invigilation?
Remote Invigilation allows you to take your exam from home under virtual supervision. You’ll be monitored via a webcam, screen sharing technology and a secondary recording device (e.g. a smartphone) during your exam.

Exam Start Time (UK Time)
When booking your exam, you must choose an exact start time, in UK time, in the 24-hour format (i.e. 01:30-21:30hrs). We recommend being ready at least 30 minutes before your exam to set up your equipment and room.
⚠️ Exams cannot be scheduled for the blackout period between 22:00 and 01:29 UK time, due to daily system maintenance.
🌍 Not in the UK? Use a time zone converter such as World Time Buddy to help.
Choosing an Exam Date
You may choose any date that suits your schedule, including Saturdays and Sundays, except for the Unavailable Dates listed in the dropdown menu (located below this text for mobile users, or to the right for desktop users). However, your exam must be booked at least 15 calendar days before your chosen date.
For example:
Want to take the exam on 26 March? You must book by 11 March.
Changes or Cancellations
Please note that once the exam date and exam start time are determined, no changes can be made. If you cannot attend the scheduled exam, regrettably, you will be required to pay the full resit exam fee again for a new attempt (85 GBP for Level 1; 110 GBP for Level 2).
WSET Online Resit Exam Registration (for both VSF and Transfer Students)
This service is for both VSF and non-VSF students. However, if you have already passed an exam, it is not possible to re-sit the exam in order to obtain a higher grade.
