Sake has become a staple on the menus of numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, often featured alongside Japanese and non-Japanese cuisines for delightful pairings. Have you ever found yourself longing to deepen your understanding of this exquisite beverage? 
 
For individuals new to the subject, the WSET Level 1 Award in Sake course offers a hands-on introduction to the world of sake. You’ll explore the main styles and types of sake through sight, smell and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavours and aromas. 
 
This one-day course teaches the fundamentals of sake, preparing you for the WSET Level 2 and Level 3 Awards in Sake should 67 Pall Mall Members wish to push themselves further.
 
The duration of the course is 9 hours, starting at 10 am (arrivals at 9:45 am) and finishing at 7 pm. Lunch will be served in 67 Pall Mall's St. James's Room at 1 pm.
 
The day culminates with a closed-book exam of 30 multiple-choice questions, with a pass mark of 70% required. Upon completion, candidates will have gained a globally recognised qualification and the knowledge to help explore the world of sake in greater depth.

The course will be taught by Marie Cheong-Thong (Chairman of The British Sake Association), a WSET Certified Educator for Sake with excellent track records: Most of her Level 3 Sake students have passed with "Distinction" or "Merit"! 
 
No prior sake knowledge is required before starting this course. The "WSET Level 1 Award in Sake" qualification is accredited by the UK Government's Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
