When Germany meets Japan...
Fruity and elegant white wine. Mild acidity and fresh minerals with a touch of melon. "Indigenous" Japanese grape with the distinct profile of a Rheingau wine. First and only winery to produce Koshu wine outside of Japan.
The Schönleber Blümlein winery dates back to 1746. It is now run by the 12th generation. Their philosophy "never stop thinking" causes the systematical questioning of every step in the production and leads to the best quality. Along with the classical Rheingau varieties of Riesling and Spätburgunder, the winery also grows the Japanese Koshu grape. They produce the first and only Koshu wine outside Japan. Trying to bring together the Rheingau terroir with the cultivation of the Koshu grape leads to an extraordinary product: the Rheingau Koshu.
