Description:
Satsuma is located in the southern part of Kagomshima frequented by warm currents all year around and blessed with thousands of tonnes of rich spring water even in the dry season from a river called the river of the gods.
This is the brewery that started the whole single distilled shochu boom in Japan. In addition to this, the brewery produces all its shochus in a traditional style pot still called a beetle. Made with black koji (Kuro-Koji) which produces a more robust wild brew but takes away the familiar alcohol sting.
Made with 100% carefully select top grade Kogane Sengan (Kagoshima Sweet Potato), Shiranami Kuro-Koji Shochu has mild sweetness with light body and aroma.
PALATE: soft fruity with body and depth.
Recommended Temperature:Room temperature or slightly chilled or, to emphasize the savory aspects, warm.
Service Recommendations:Drink on the rocks, straight or diluted with water.
Food Pairing Suggestions:
Served with sushi, chicken teriyaki, barbecue etc.
