The Saperavi Budeshuri is a dry red wine, characterized by aromas of crunchy cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants, toasted almonds and dried violets. The wine is refreshing, satisfying and elegant with round tannins.
This red wine spends 15 days on skins with no stems and just over a year in qvevri. All John Okro’s wines are 100% natural with no sulphur and any other chemicals added.
About the Winery:
John Okruashvili ("John Okro") grew up with John Wurdeman’s wife Ketevan (John Wurdemnn being the owner of Pheasant's Tears Winery). Since 2009, he has been bottling his own wine under the name Okro’s Wines. He has a passion for ancient Georgian winemaking rituals. John cultivates his vineyards organically without the use of any pesticides, weedkillers or other treatments. His wines are fermented in qvevri with several months of skin maceration.
