Biodaynamic + Organic
"A+B stands for Alarige and Borba, the nearly extinct local grapes from Extremadura"
TASTING NOTE
This organic, indigenous white wine is pale lemon in appearance. It has a pronounced nose of apricot, peach, lychee, passion fruit, mango and orange blossom. It is dry with an excellent level of acidity, long finish with pronounced flavours.
WINERY
Bodegas Cerro La Barca is in Villanueva, Extremadura, western part of Spain. It was founded by two winemakers in 2003. They own 25 ha of vineyards and viticulture is biodynamic and organic certified. Their philosophy is to make wines with native grapes and with minimum intervention. For this reason, they use natural yeast and use the minimum sulphites in the winery. Their mission is to share the passion for high quality organic wines with wine lovers.
VINIFICATION
The grapes come from a 600 m altitude. Both grapes were harvested at the same time by hand. They were co-fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to keep purity of fruit aromas and flavours.
